The Society works closely with Basildon Borough Council, the owner and manager of this ancient woodland (located in Billericay in the English County of Essex) to promote the interests of this Ancient Monument, Local Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The entry for the Brentwood and Billericay group (of the Essex Wildlife Trust) on page 8 (contacts) of the Autumn 2015 issue of the Society's newsletter has been put under the RSPB heading. This should, of course, be under the EWT heading. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The Society's talk on Monday 31st October at 7.45pm at the Billericay Day Centre in Chantry Chase (by the side of the Chequers pub in the High Street) is about 'Amphibians and Reptiles in Norsey Wood' and is given by Ray Cranfield.

Visitors will have noticed that some trees in the area close to the Centre and near main paths have been lopped or felled. This is in the interest of safety. Please keep children and dogs well clear of any such activity in the future.

If you notice any tree or branch near a path that looks dangerous or has fallen across a path, please inform the Warden at the Centre or on 01277 624553. Thank you!
